Community Fund

A community Fund would be established to assist in the delivery of projects aimed at improving local facilities, the environment and energy efficiency, creating new educational opportunities and improving or implementing small-scale renewable energy projects. In this way the wind farm would bring direct benefits to local communities in addition to the wider benefits associated with the renewable energy it would deliver during its operational lifetime.

The fund would be £2,000 per megawatt (MW) of installed capacity per year for the lifetime of the project. It would not be dependant on the amount of electricity generated. Depending on the capacity of the three turbines that are actually installed on the site the fund would be in the region of £12,000 to £15,000 per year for the lifetime of the project. The fund would typically be managed by a body established by the Local Authority with a remit to deliver such projects.

The fund would be in the region of £15000 per year for the lifetime of the project and it would not be dependant on the amount of electricity generated. The fund would typically be managed by an independent body established by the Local Authority with a remit to deliver such projects.

We would be pleased to hear from you should you wish to promote a community project that the fund may be able to assist - we would welcome your suggestions.
